One thing he is sure of - there's a monster loose in them there hills, and he's the biggest, baddest monster hunter around!
Footloose is a short story, about 10,000 words, or 30 printed pages.
Footloose A Bubba the Monster Hunter Short Story eBook John G Hartness
"Footloose - A Bubba the Monster Hunter Short Story" by John G. Hartness is another one of several "Bubba the Monster Hunter" short stories created for our reading pleasure by Mr. Hartness. I've read several of these stories, and have enjoyed each of them immensely. Bubba is not a deep-thinking academician, or literary giant... although he IS something of a giant, physically speaking. At six foot, five inches or so, and around 300 pounds, Bubba doesn't have to take a lot of guff from anybody. Surprisingly, though, he actually works for the Church as a professional monster hunter. His "job" is to investigate reported monster sightings and take appropriate action. The brains behind his brawn is a gay, black computer nerd who goes by the name "Skeeter", because compared to Bubba he's not much bigger than a mosquito. Skeeter maintains communication with Bubba through a Bluetooth and a special pair of glasses with a built-in video camera. Sometimes Bubba forgets to turn off the video, and Skeeter sees things he'd rather not see, being that he is gay.
But I digress. The whole series of "Bubba" books is a collection of quick, mindless entertainment, for those times when your brain just needs a break from all the thinking it has to do. Bubba is a fun-loving kind of guy, but he's not just a big bully. He actually has a conscience, and he listens to it when the occasion arises. He even resists the amorous advances of women attracted to him... well, MOST of them, anyway.
These stories are mostly clean, and suitable for tweens and teens, up to however old you are when you no longer can read. There is very little profanity (and none of the "big" swear words), and no overt sexual activities. (Although Bubba DOES have a proclivity for hanging out in "titty" bars, so maybe it isn't quite suitable for younger teens. As the parent, that's your call.) All things considered, I really enjoy being able to just kick back and read another "Bubba" adventure.
If you occasionally crave a little mindless entertainment (and judging by what's on TV, millions of you must enjoy mindless entertainment), you could do a lot worse than to pick up one or more of the Bubba books. I recommend them for anybody who has EVER watched an episode of any of the so-called "reality" shows on TV, as well as most of you who have NEVER watched any of that stuff. I think you'll agree that Bubba puts on a much better 1/2 hour of entertainment.

Footloose A Bubba the Monster Hunter Short Story eBook John G Hartness Reviews
Take Bubba and introduce him to big foot, and see how everyone reacts. Oh yeah, big foot talks. Funny and moralistic.
The best bigfoot story I have ever read and what is (I hope, I hope, I hope) the possible opening to a full length Bubba novel. The author's work is pure fun, and a joy to read. BUY THIS STORY!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed each of the bubba the monster hunter short stories. Another reviewer has compared bubba to Larry the cable guy, rough tough with a heart of gold , all while wearing hair bands tshirts and lacking enough heat to calm a cancelled black Friday sale. Recommend going back to the first bubba short story and work your way up.
--and he's finally getting some backstory! We got a flash of a past from the Hall & Goats, but Footloose ripped the whole Bubba's got a past thing wide open. I can't wait to read the next one. I'm so excited to learn more about Bubba's family.
I preferred the other Bubba short story I read, "Hall & Goats", over "Footloose". "Footloose" did not have much of a plot. I do hope that Mr. Hartness does favor us w/ more Bubba short stories.
6'5"+, 300 lbs+ is about to hunt something that makes him seem petite. Bigfoot.
Locals have been seeing a naked 7' hairy beast with an organ as big as a baby's arm roaming the mountains. Sight of him has caused several accidents so Bubba has been called in to take care of the menace. Returning is Agent Amy Hall of the Department of ExtraDimensional, Mystical and Occult Nuisances, or DEMON. What they discover when they finally meet up with the monster will be even worse than they first thought.
Did I mention the organ bigger than a baby's arm?
Ok so the absolute crassness that is Bubba brings me unadulterated joy.
Needless to say I highly recommend this story.
This short story (episode) adds the big picture of the Paranormal/Supernatural world in The Bubba the Monster Hunter series, giving us insight into both the hunters and monsters alike.
In case you are just stumbling upon this series, here is my advice While it helps to start at the beginning, you can catch on to the storyline with out much problem from any of the short stories. Much like working a jigsaw puzzle, the more you read the more you will be able to piece it all together.
I am addicted to this series. The more that I read, the more that I wish that the author would release them in volume sets. Each story story (episode) is a pleasing read. Yet when you read a couple of them together, it is easy to develop a deep appreciate for the series.
